Volunteer for the 2018 VIDF in exchange for performance tickets!

Volunteer Shifts from March 1st – March 24th, 2018

Roundhouse VIDF Reception (Hosting)

  • Hosting / General help including catering and bussing – Must be mobile and able to lift objects

Life Drawing: Model (clothed) for Roundhouse drawing sessions

  • Sessions last one hour and are on the Roundhouse Exhibition Hall Stage
  • Experience in dance is an asset but not mandatory.

Roundhouse Concession: Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks

  • ‘Serving it Right’ certification an asset but not a requirement / Must be over 19 years of age
  • Volunteers must be comfortable handling cash and engaging with public.
  • Must have sound math skills and be comfortable handling cash

Roundhouse Membership Sales: Sell VIDF memberships at venue

  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public
  • Volunteers must be comfortable handling cash and engaging with public.

Roundhouse Box office/Will call: Sorting and distributing pre-purchased performance tickets

  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public

Playhouse Membership Hosts: Membership enrollment

  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public

Playhouse Box office/Will call: Sorting and distributing pre-purchased performance tickets

  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public

KW Studios Membership Hosts

  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public

Site Specific: Woodwards Atrium

  • Collect donations & hand out promotional materials during performances
  • Must be comfortable engaging with the general public

VIDF Volunteer Ticket Policy

Thank you for volunteering with the Vancouver International Dance Festival. Every year the festival relies on the generosity of volunteers who help make the festival a fun environment for audiences and artists.

In exchange for each shift worked, volunteers are entitled to request a performance ticket. Below are the VIDF Volunteer ticket policies. Thank you for reading the policy before requesting tickets.

General Volunteer Ticket Policies

  • A volunteer shift must be worked in advance of or, during the requested ticket date.
  • If you are volunteering for Life Drawing, Site-Specific or Program Distribution, please be certain about your ticket request before submitting.
  • If you volunteer in the afternoon, you may request a ticket for a show on the same evening.
  • If you request a ticket for a sold out show, VIDF will do it’s best to make alternate arrangements.

Roundhouse Volunteer Tickets

  • If you are working a membership, box office/will call, concession or hosting shift, you will be offered a ticket to see the 8pm show that is on the same evening as your volunteer shift.
  • If you are working Concession at the Roundhouse, you will also be asked to help post show.
  • If you are working Membership at the Roundhouse, you will not be able to see the free 7pm performance

Playhouse Volunteer Tickets

  • If you are working a membership, box office/will call or box office shift, you will be offered a ticket to see the 8pm show that is on the same evening as your volunteer shift.

KW Studios Volunteer tickets

  • If you are working a membership shift, you will be offered a ticket to see the 5pm show that is on the same evening as your volunteer shift.

Note: Roundhouse Hall Performances are free of charge, so there is no need to make a ticket request for these 7pm shows. Once you’ve purchased a $3 membership, you will have access to the performances at any time during the festival.

Note: Woodwards Atrium shows are also free of charge. No membership is required.
