Vancouver’s Kickstart Disability Arts & Culture presents Bill “Crutchmaster” Shannon performing Spatial Theory, a mix of house and hip hop dance forms and skateboard culture, with a live DJ. Shannon uses his crutches as an extension of his body to display an extraordinary palette of movements demonstrated with impeccable timing and fluidity. He leaves his audience hungry not only for more dance but for his inspirational attitude on life. Contemporary dancer/choreographer Peggy Baker is acclaimed as one of most outstanding contemporary dancers of her generation. She restages her classic work Geometry of the Circle, with Alison Denham and musician Mark Brose. For the March 21 Gala only, Peggy Baker performs solo in earthling danced on a tipped and tilted platform—a study in distortion and mutability.
